SaintsLives, miracles, feast days and the long road to sainthood
Short, sourced portraits of the saints: when they lived, their story, how the Church came to recognise them, and some trivia. Saints from the first thousand years were recognised by popular devotion and local bishops long before the formal process existed (they're called pre-Congregation saints). Modern saints go through the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints: Servant of God → Venerable → Blessed (usually after one approved miracle) → Saint (usually after a second).
